US-based scientists find antibody to block dengue virus

In January 2021, a bunch of researchers discovered an antibody that cintrols the
spread of dengue virus. This research was led by the University of California,
Berkeley and the University of Michigan. The researchers have said that the new
antibody blocks the spread within the body of the dengue virus.
Dengue is caused by a mosquito-borne pathogen. It is known to affect almost 50
to 100 million people every year. Symptoms of dengue include fever, vomiting
and muscle aches. It can also cause death is not handled well.
However, there are no treatments or vaccines available to control or cure the
dengue virus. The challenge is greater because there are four different strains of
the dengue virus.
